Finding and trusting in your YES/NO responses
Having intuition and trusting your intuition (or knowing what it is telling you) are two very different aspects of being intuitive.
What is intuition?
Intuition is the ability to understand something or an experience without having the conscious reasoning to explain it.
How do you notice your intuition?
We are all super wonderful unique individuals, so it makes sense that our intuitive capabilities and how we feel them are also wonderful and unique.Ā Being that this is the case, Iām going to list a few examples of different possible ways to feel your intuition.Ā
- Upset stomach
- Headache
- Butterflies in your belly
- A big smileĀ
- Ringing in your ears
- Seeing colours
- Ache in āthat one certain spotā
- A very specific movement of your body - like a head tilt to the right, or a twitch of a certain finger
Taking it to the next level
So you figure you have it in some capacity. Or maybe you notice nothing at all. Either way, itās great - and normal!Ā You know you have an intuition, but how can you tell what itās saying? How do you separate anxious thoughts from appropriate concerns and know what your true gut feeling is?Ā This technique will work and give you a baseline to trust your intuition - every time!
What to do now - Finding your YES response
Connection with yourself is vital. This does not have to be some profound experience either, just knowing and feeling a bit about your body and your mind.
If you are a meditator (which of course, I highly recommend), then a meditation is the perfect place to start!
- Connect in with yourself through a meditation
- In your meditation ask yourself to give you a sign for YES
- Become comfortable with this YES response - this might take a couple of days with your daily meditations
- Every morning when you awaken, ask to strengthen your YES response
Not a meditator?Ā Ā Take a minute - when your littles are napping, amazing fur babies are occupied, or phone isnāt ringing. Sit down, relax (yes, take a moment of rest for yourself!)
Need more? Here is a great course on beginning meditation.
- Find a comfortable place to physically relax your body...Your couch, your favorite chair, a spot in your backyard.
- Take a quiet moment to become calm - feel yourself ease and melt into your spot.Ā
- While you are totally chilling, ask yourself to give you a sign for YES
Become comfortable with this YES response - this might take a couple of days with your daily meditations and moments of calm connection.
Every morning when you awaken, ask to strengthen your YES response
First off, if you do not find your personal YES response on the first go around...please know that this is normal! Continue to trust that it will come to you.Ā Every night, calmly and gently ask to have an answer when you awaken. Every morning, ask and thank any subtle responses you receive. However long it takes, you are learning how to listen to yourself and your body.Ā
What are some responses that other people have hadĀ Ā (Just as a helpful guide for you)
- Seeing YES being written on a chalkboard in front of you
- Seeing a āYā in front of you (I see a āYā in my minds eye on the right side)
- Hearing the sound of your favorite animal
- A special sound pitch
- Seeing a certain colour
- Your belly gets a good tummy tickle
What to do now - Finding your NO response
Normally your NO response is easier to find, for a couple of reasons:
- You have already done this to find your YES response.
- More often people have āthat feelingā of something is not good for them.Ā
Follow the steps listed above from finding your YES response.
If you are a meditatorĀ
- Connect in with yourself through a meditation
- In your meditation ask yourself to give you a sign for NO
- Become comfortable with this NO response - this might take a couple of days with your daily meditations
- Every morning when you awaken, ask to strengthen your NO response
Not a meditator?
- Find a comfortable place to physically relax your body...Your couch, your favorite chair, a spot in your backyard.
- Take a quiet moment to become calm - feel yourself ease and melt into your spotĀ
- While you are totally chilling, ask yourself to give you a sign for NO
- Become comfortable with this NO response - this might take a couple of days with your daily meditations
- Every morning when you awaken, ask to strengthen your NO response
What are some responses that other people have hadĀ Ā (Just as a helpful guide for you)Ā
- This one tends to be far easier to identify
- Seeing a NO written before you (I see an 'N' in front of me)
- A sick feeling in your belly
- Headache
- Jaw ache
Ā
More tips
- Remember to ask questions that can be answered with a YES or NO response.
- The more calm and clear your mind is, the better you will learn your response.
- The more calm and clear your mind is, the better you will notice your response when needed.
- I suggest REALLY knowing your YES response first.
- Engage your body and mind to feel and know your response.
Once you are far more comfortable with it, take it out on a test run
Here are some examples of how to use this in the outside world:
- āIs it in my best interest to go food shopping this morning?ā
- If you donāt get your YES response then ask in another way:
- āIs it in my best interest to go food shopping this afternoon?ā
- āIs it safe to allow my kids to play at the park on Hill Roadā
- āWill the new car (insert type, year, details etc) I am looking at buying serve my needs well?ā
- āIs the used car (insert details) going to be a good purchase for my needs?ā
One of the more current terms for maneuvering through the traumas of life is a term called gas lighting. It's a way of others shaming, manipulating and gaining control over you.
Finding your own sense of who you are, and trusting in YOU, in trusting in your intuition can be of major benefit in all aspects of your life. From a very trusted friend of mine, learn more about gaslighting.
Finding your YES/NO responses is another very practical way to further nurture your own personal intuitive natures!
Let me know in the comments what comes up for your YES/NO responses!

What works well with this information?
There are times when you might need a little more guidance on the type of person you are. That deep personal information can be difficult to extract, so with the use of this blog on writing a manifesto the ability to ask yourself questions in a different way helps. Enjoy!
